Pastor, writer, and social entrepreneur, Greg serves as the founder and lead pastor at Veritas City Church in Washington, DC.

Founded September 2017, Veritas City Church exists to make disciples who live on mission. This common mission uniquely manifests itself in three different lanes for Veritas City Church— church planting, compassion, and creativity.

CHURCH PLANTING:
Veritas City Church is working to plant it’s first 2 churches by 2020 in Washington, DC and in Boston.

COMPASSION:
Veritas City Church is working to start a 501c3 non-profit coffeehouse that provides transitional employment to homeless men, women, and teenagers with the goal of re-socializing, providing job skills training, and further long-term employment opportunities.

CREATIVITY:
Veritas City Church seeks to champion goodness, truth, and beauty by developing the Goodness Institute of Washington, DC. The Goodness Institute will step into the fields of aesthetic and apologetic theology.

Previously, Greg was an executive elder and the family ministries pastor at Foothills Church in Knoxville, TN, overseeing the crib through college life-stage teams. Under his leadership at FC, the student ministry team witnessed a tremendous response growing from 6 teenagers to over 400 teenagers and 100+ volunteers in the 7-years. The kids ministry team at FC under his leadership developed 3 different life-stage ministries and oversaw 150+ volunteers and hundreds of families.

Greg also founded Veritas Lit in January 2016. Veritas Lit exists to create gospel-centered resources for the good of the local church. The goal of VL is to send out 1 million resources all over the world by 2030.

  3. Hey Greg,
I have been wanting to get a copy of your book for some time now. The two versions on Amazon show it is not available. Your site here says it will be available soon. Do you have a copy lying around that I can get from you? At the end of this month I will be going down to Florida for a national men’s leadership seminar by Man in the Mirror. I’m looking for some reading material and your articles on CBMW are quite interesting.

  4. Hey Greg, I like your articles on CBMW and others like the “Relationships and Roles in the New Creation”.
I have a question: I am not personally persuaded that we will lose our marriages and sexuality in the new creation, I would like to have more views on sexuality and complementarianism in the eschaton. With regard to Adam and Eve, Thomas Aquinas elaborates in his speculations about what would havehappened in Paradise if the Fall had not occurred .Aquinas says that in Paradise Adam and Eve would have enjoyed more carnal pleasure in sexuality than after the Fall. The language of Revelation 21-22 is full of references to the original creation, suggesting that John intends to portray “the reverse of the curse,” a return to the conditions of Eden. As for sexual activity, there is pleasure associated with it; If eternal life is to bring full enjoyment, why not imagine a scenario in which people engage in sex for the sheer pleasure? It’s difficult to imagine gender in heaven without some form of attraction between male and female and yes, even some form of “union” (without procreation). If we have genders, why would we given that we wouldn’t have a need for it, since there is no procreation?

  5. Fernando, thanks so much for reading and for your comment. I completely see your line of reasoning. I absolutely think New Creation is the New Eden—as the story of the Bible goes from a Garden to a City. The only theological argument I can give on this is the teachings of Jesus in Matt. 22, as well as a christological argument for the supremacy of Jesus in the New Creation. In the Garden, we didn’t have Jesus in the flesh. In the New Heavens and New Earth, Jesus will be center of everything we do, not our sexuality or marriages. Maybe it’s this “marriage” between Christ and His Bride that will have priority.
